The uprising of weighted lenses in the market

Long gone are the days when cosplaying cat-like characters required digital editing to achieve the perfect slit pupils. Creating realistic vertical pupils with traditional lenses often looked unnatural and could be surprisingly difficult to pull off convincingly.
In recent years, we've seen many contact lens brands in China becoming increasingly responsive to consumer feedback. However, early "cat-eye" lenses often came with a frustrating issue — the slit pupil would rotate as you blinked or moved your eyes. One moment you had a sleek feline look, and the next, the pupil had shifted sideways, leaving you looking more like a goat than a cat. Cosplayers frequently had to manually adjust the lenses to return the slits to their intended vertical position.
Since late 2025, however, a new generation of weighted and static cat-eye lenses has begun gaining popularity. These lenses feature a weighted base designed to keep the slit pupil aligned correctly. As a result, the lens naturally returns to its intended position after blinking and remains significantly more stable during wear.

Several brands have already embraced this innovation, including Doya, Risako, and Lenspop, all of which offer these lenses in a wide variety of colours and designs. Following their success, we have also seen more mainstream and everyday lens brands introducing their own weighted lens collections.
Notable examples include Obalens, Mimipark, and coFancy, which will be added to our site very soon.
In addition, we recently discovered a brand called EyeSinger through RedNote. EyeSinger specialises exclusively in weighted and character-inspired lenses, offering a range of unique designs tailored for cosplay enthusiasts. We've successfully sourced these lenses and made them available for international customers. You can find them on our website by using the search bar.
We believe this is only the beginning of a new wave of innovation in cosplay contact lenses. As technology and design continue to improve, we can expect even more beautiful, stable, and character-accurate lens designs to emerge.
Stay tuned as we continue to explore and share the latest developments in the world of cosplay lenses.
